履行责任的标准越高，其人生价值就可能越大。一名教师，只有尽到对学生的责任，才能是好教师。因此，加强教师职业道德修养，必须从“责任”两字做起。对自己应尽的责任认识得越早，越能健康快速地成长，越能在履行责任中实现自己的人生价值。那么，怎样做才能更好地履行教师的责任呢?
一、要身体力行，以身作则
我认为要从课堂做起，从小事做起;要求学生做到的教师自己先要做到，并且要做得更好，这就要求教师必须学为人师，身正为范。我一直就是这样来要求勉励自己的。
在低年级学生眼里，教师是完美的化身，是榜样，教师的一言一行都受到学生的关注。因此教师的人格对学生的影响是巨大的，甚至是终生的，尤其是教师不良的行为所产生的负面影响更是无法挽回的。如果一个教师上课迟到早退，或不认真备课、随便应付，或对学生不管不问，那么这样的教师怎么能让学生有好的学习榜样?怎么能教书育人?
二、要不断提高自己的专业知识和业务水平
教师首先要有扎实的专业理论水平。
对所教课程的内容要非常熟悉，从教材、体系到知识点等都必须了解、掌握;上课能够做到驾轻就熟，深入浅出，难易恰当，重点突出，对学生的回答能及时做出明确的判断，不能模棱两可，这就要求我们要不断地充实自己，不断地学习。
其次，要有好的教学方法。
作为教师来讲，怎么教是一个很重要的问题，好的教学方法能够吸引学生的注意力，培养学生的学习兴趣和积极性，使学生得到启发，思维能力得到锻炼，从而能够使学生自主地学习。相反，照本宣科、填鸭式的教学方法是不受学生欢迎的，这样的课堂是缺乏生机、缺乏活力的。
因此，能否掌握学生喜欢的教学方法，也是教师业务水平的重要体现。尤其是我们现在参加的二期课程，在培养能力，发展思维的同时，必须兼顾基础知识和基本技能的落实。
第三，要有比较宽广的知识面和反思能力。
教师如果没有比较宽广的知识面，就不能在教学中游刃有余，也不利于拓展学生的思维。业务水平的提高要靠不断学习、反思和探索，而这背后的决定因素是教师的责任心。
三、要关爱学生
一是关心学生的思想。教师要利用课余时间与学生进行交流、谈心，了解学生在学习、生活等方面的情况，从中知道学生在想什么，需要什么。
二是关心学生的学习。当学生学习上遇到困难，要及时地，耐心细致地辅导，坚持让每一个学生都得到发展。
